The Los Angeles Mycological Society (LAMS) is a non-profit group founded in 1971 to foster the understanding and appreciation of mushrooms and other fungi.

We create and sponsor fun mushroom related events and help people learn about and identify mushrooms they find in the greater Los Angeles area.

From October – May, we host guest speakers and mushroom ID sessions at our monthly meetings in Glendale, which are free and open to the public. In February, we host the annual LA Wild Mushroom Fair at the LA Arboretum.

LAMS members receive our newsletter and participate in member-only events, such as mushroom forays (depending on season and weather), workshops, and social gatherings. Members receive e-mail announcements about these events as they are scheduled.

To start or renew your LAMS membership see our Membership page.

You can also help out LAMS by supporting our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a donation.
